If you’re searching for biblical encouragement because life feels like it’s unraveling faster than you can hold it together, you’re not alone. I’ve been there — when the bills are piling up, your body is breaking down, and your prayers feel like they’re hitting the ceiling. The truth is, even when we know God is good, we can still have days (or even years) when everything feels overwhelming. Faith doesn’t always feel like confidence. Sometimes it feels like showing up in your pajamas, with puffy eyes, whispering, “God, I’m trying.” And in those moments, what we really need isn’t a perfect solution, but a gentle reminder that God is still with us in the midst of the mess, working, moving, and making a way we can’t see yet.

The Day Everything Fell Apart
Let me take you back to the end of 2021.
I had been unemployed for over a year and a half. My savings? Gone — including my 401k. I had been trying to build the business I knew God had called me to, but nothing seemed to be working. I was exhausted. Spiritually. Mentally. Physically.
I was also grieving the sudden loss of our 11-month-old puppy, still recovering from Covid, and my body was in full flare mode. I couldn’t walk without pain for months. I cried. I prayed. I got angry. I told God, “I’m doing everything I know to do, but I don’t see anything changing.”
And still… nothing.
My faith felt thin. My bank account was overdrawn. I didn’t even know where to start.
Then, one day, I got a call. An old boss from 16 years ago said, “I don’t know if you need a job, but I want to offer you one.”
What he didn’t know was that he had been the first person I gave a prophetic word to outside of my church. That moment felt like God tapping me on the shoulder, saying, “See? I haven’t forgotten you.”
Biblical Encouragement in the Middle of Chaos
If you’re in a place where you feel stuck, weary, or completely undone, here are three truths I want you to hold onto:
1. God is with you — even when He feels silent.
“So do not fear, for I am with you… I will strengthen you and help you.” — Isaiah 41:10
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” — Psalm 46:1
God’s silence is not His absence. The roots are growing, even if you can’t see the fruit yet. He is still upholding you — even here.
2. Your feelings are valid — but they aren’t the full truth.
“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart.” — Psalm 73:26
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5
You don’t have to ignore how you feel, but you also don’t have to let your feelings drive the narrative. God’s Word gets the final say — not your fear.
When I was stuck in a spiral of “nothing I do is working,” I realized I had stopped trying. I had let the discouragement take over. But just shifting my thought to “God called me to this, even if I don’t see it yet” helped me move forward again — one small step at a time.
3. Your “but God” moment is coming.
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him.” — Romans 8:28
“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” — Psalm 30:5
You might not see it yet, but God is already working behind the scenes. That job offer for me? It didn’t just provide income. It reminded me that God still saw me — and that changed everything.
One Simple Action You Can Take Today
You don’t have to fix everything all at once. Here’s something small you can do right now:
Write down one time in your life when God showed up — even if it felt small.
Keep it somewhere visible. Let it anchor your faith when things feel shaky.
Because if the story isn’t good yet, it’s not over.
And if you’re still breathing, God is still writing.
