You know God has called you to impact the Kingdom with your calling but now you feel stuck and just need God to show you how to do what He's asking you to do. Turn the fear of messing it up and the doubt of how to move forward into clarity and confidence with Christian Life Coaching. Let's chat!
Have you ever found yourself sitting in your car for a few extra minutes before heading inside, just needing a moment of silence before facing the next thing? Or maybe you scroll through funny videos, not because you have time to waste, but because your heart needs a break—just a little space to breathe.
That, my friend, is emotional rest—and whether we realize it or not, our hearts desperately need it.
As a Christian life coach for women, I hear it all the time. Women who feel emotionally drained but don’t understand why. They’re exhausted, but it’s not just physical. They’ve prayed, journaled, and tried to “power through,” but deep down, something still feels heavy.
Maybe that’s you, too. Maybe you’re carrying grief, stress, or the weight of everyone’s expectations. Maybe you feel emotionally overextended, constantly supporting others but never quite sure where to put your own emotions.
I get it. And you’re not alone.
Let’s talk about why emotional rest matters, how it impacts your overall well-being, and what God says about finding true emotional renewal.
Emotional rest isn’t about suppressing your emotions or ignoring them. It’s about creating space to process, release, and restore—so your heart doesn’t stay in a constant state of depletion.
Think about it:
Emotional rest gives us the permission to pause, breathe, and let go of what we’re holding onto so tightly.
Maybe you’re carrying grief—loss that still lingers in the background of your days.
Maybe you’re carrying the emotional load of your family, constantly absorbing the stress, struggles, and needs of those around you.
Maybe you’re carrying unspoken disappointment, the feeling that life isn’t quite what you thought it would be, and you don’t even know who to talk to about it.
No matter what it is, emotional rest gives you space to process and heal. Without it, we stay in survival mode—constantly reacting, constantly suppressing, never really moving forward.
Emotional rest looks different for everyone, but here are a few ways to start releasing what’s weighing you down and creating space for renewal.
So often, we dismiss our own emotions. We tell ourselves, It’s not that big of a deal. Other people have it worse. I just need to be stronger.
But healing starts with acknowledging what’s really there.
God isn’t afraid of your emotions. He gave them to you for a reason. When we bring our emotions to Him instead of ignoring them, He meets us with comfort, wisdom, and healing.

Not every moment of your day has to be productive. Sometimes, emotional rest looks like:
Jesus Himself regularly withdrew from the crowds to rest, pray, and process (Luke 5:16). If He needed it, so do we.
If you’re constantly saying yes to people and situations that leave you feeling emotionally drained, it’s time to set some boundaries.
Emotional rest often means choosing:
You don’t have to carry everything. Jesus invites us to lay our burdens at His feet (Matthew 11:28). It’s time to take Him up on that.
We weren’t meant to process emotions alone. Sometimes, emotional rest comes in the form of:
If you don’t have that safe space yet, I invite you to join my Free Facebook Community for Christian Women—a place where we can have these conversations together.
At the end of the day, emotional rest isn’t just about self-care—it’s about surrender.
When we try to carry everything on our own, we will always feel exhausted. But when we invite God into our emotions, He does what we cannot.
Psalm 55:22 reminds us, “Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you.”
You were never meant to hold it all together. Let Him be your source of peace.
If you’ve been feeling emotionally drained, overwhelmed, or just off, I want you to know—there is hope.
Emotional rest isn’t something you have to earn—it’s something God invites you into.
If you’re ready to go deeper in this journey, here are a few ways we can connect:
God never intended for you to live on empty. Let’s take the first step toward emotional rest and renewal—together.
