Through breakthrough coaching, you’ll gain clarity, reclaim your energy, and step boldly into the life God has called you to—without the self-doubt, stress, or second-guessing.
Are you tired of feeling stuck in a cycle of negative thinking, self-doubt, and overwhelm? Do you long for a deeper connection with God and a renewed sense of purpose in your life? If so, you’re not alone.
I’m Amy Wadlington, a Christian life coach, and I help women like you break free from the mental battles that keep them feeling unqualified, exhausted, and stuck. And today, we’re diving into something that can truly change everything: how to take every thought captive and align your mind with God’s truth.
If you’ve ever felt like your thoughts were running your life—dictating your emotions, keeping you paralyzed with fear, or leading you into cycles of frustration—you are in the right place.
If you are more of an audible learner, listen in to Episode 4 of my Christian podcast for women, Her Unraveled Life: “Transforming Your Mindset from Fixed to Growth & Taking Every Thought Captive.”
In this episode, we unpack exactly what it means to take every thought captive (2 Corinthians 10:5) and how you can break free from the lies holding you back.
Let’s dive into the key takeaways from this episode!
The way we think affects how we feel, what we do, and ultimately, the results we see in our lives. This truth is echoed in Proverbs 23:7: “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.”
Many of us struggle with intrusive thoughts, anxiety, and self-doubt, believing lies like:
But the Bible makes it clear—we are NOT powerless against these thoughts. We have authority over them.
2 Corinthians 10:5 tells us to “take every thought captive to obey Christ.” This means we must be intentional about filtering every thought through the truth of God’s Word instead of letting negativity run unchecked.
Want to start taking control of your thoughts and stepping into freedom? Here’s a simple four-step process you can use daily:
Pay attention to the thoughts that fill your mind throughout the day. Are they life-giving, or are they full of fear and self-doubt? Awareness is the first step to change.
Colossians 3:2 – “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”
Negative thoughts will come—but you don’t have to believe them. Instead of accepting the enemy’s lies, replace them with the Word of God.
Ephesians 6:17 reminds us to put on the helmet of salvation—the protection of God’s truth over our minds.
Ask yourself: What does God say about me? Then, declare it over your life.
Your words have power. Instead of speaking defeat, speak faith. Jesus tells us in Mark 11:22-24 that when we pray, we should believe we have received what we ask for.
Tell your thoughts where to go:
“I reject the lie that I’m not good enough.”
“I am more than a conqueror in Christ.” (Romans 8:37)
When anxiety creeps in, take a deep breath and surrender it to God. Expect Him to work in your life. Even in the waiting, He is moving.
Romans 12:2 – “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
One of the biggest mindset shifts you can make is moving from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset.
Instead of seeing struggles as failures, see them as opportunities for God to shape you.
Listen to Episode 4 of my Christian podcast for women to dive deeper into this transformation.
Every negative thought is an opportunity to reframe your mindset. Here’s how:
1️⃣ Awareness – Notice when negativity creeps in.
2️⃣ Challenge – Ask: Is this thought true?
3️⃣ Rewrite – Replace it with a truth from God’s Word.
4️⃣ Affirm – Speak life over yourself.
5️⃣ Consistency – Do this daily until it becomes second nature.
Instead of seeing your struggles as roadblocks, see them as stepping stones toward God’s best for you.
Renewing your mind isn’t a one-time event—it’s a daily practice. Some days will be harder than others, but remember: it’s about progress, not perfection.
