I'm Amy Wadlington! I help high-achieving Christian women break free from overwhelm, quiet the mental noise, and finally find peace. Through breakthrough coaching, you’ll gain clarity, reclaim your energy, and step boldly into the life God has called you to—without the self-doubt, stress, or second-guessing.
Have you ever felt like you’re on the edge of something big—like God is getting ready to move—but nothing is happening yet?
I felt a major shift in the atmosphere over the weekend. It’s a new spiritual season. And as I prayed, God kept bringing me back to one word: capacity.
Have you wondered why the breakthrough you’ve been waiting for hasn’t come and what you may be doing wrong?
It may not be you – but it also might be. Sometimes, the enemy causes delay (Daniel 10:13). Sometimes we’re not ready… and not being ready can delay our breakthrough. Consider the Israelites who had to wait for 40 years to cross the Jordan into their Promised Land. And sometimes it’s just not the right time. God’s timing is always right on time.
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:” Ecclesiastes 3:1
What if the only thing standing between you and your breakthrough is your ability to receive it?

Have you ever felt like you’re on the edge of something big—like God is getting ready to move—but nothing is happening yet? Have you wondered why breakthrough hasn’t come and what you may be doing wrong?
And as I prayed, God kept bringing me back to one word: capacity.
Imagine God pouring out His blessings—His direction, provision, favor—but in His goodness and faithfulness, He won’t pour into something that isn’t ready to hold it. He’s not going to waste what He has for you by placing it into a container too small to sustain it.
Your part? Expanding your capacity to receive….or get a bigger bucket.
This is why God makes you wait before your breakthrough. The waiting isn’t a punishment—it’s preparation.
Lately, God has been leading me to prepare for growth in my business.
Some of the work He’s asked me to do doesn’t make sense from a business perspective—things like formatting my website, SEO, backend organization. Most entrepreneurs wait to do those things after their business grows, when they’re already seeing the revenue and clients.
But that’s not how God’s Kingdom works.
The world says: “Expand as you grow.”
The Kingdom says: “Prepare for expansion so you can receive even more growth.”
This is why God makes you wait before your breakthrough—He is equipping you for what’s coming so you don’t collapse under the weight of His blessing.
And when you look at the business world, this actually makes complete sense.
So many businesses collapse under the weight of their own success. Not because they weren’t meant to grow, but because they weren’t prepared for it.
And this is true in our spiritual lives as well.
Think about David. He was anointed as king long before he actually took the throne. But before he could rule, God had to increase his capacity.
Each challenge stretched him, strengthened him, and prepared him for what God had already anointed him for.
God didn’t withhold David’s kingship. He was equipping him to be able to sustain the responsibility of ruling a nation.
This is why God makes you wait before your breakthrough. He isn’t delaying you—He is developing you.
Your capacity isn’t increased in the easy moments—it’s expanded through preparation, perseverance, and obedience.
Jesus used a powerful analogy in Luke 5:37-38:
“And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the new wine will burst the skins, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, new wine must be poured into new wineskins.”
In biblical times, wineskins were made from animal hides. New wineskins were flexible, able to expand as new wine fermented. But old wineskins became dry, cracked, and stiff. If you poured new wine into them, they would crack or burst.
Jesus was talking about the new covenant of grace, but this applies to you and me, right now, in this season.
God is pouring out something new. But if we’re still holding onto old ways of thinking, old habits, or old fears, we won’t be able to receive it.
This is why God makes you wait before your breakthrough—He is making you into a new wineskin, stretching you so that you can hold what He’s about to pour out.
We have to become new wineskins. We have to be willing to change, willing to stretch, and willing to let go of what’s keeping us stuck.
Here’s what I want you to hear today: God moves when we move.
The woman touched the hem of Jesus’ garment before she was healed.
Moses raised his staff before the Red Sea parted.
The priests stepped into the Jordan before the water stopped flowing.
Action ignites activation.
So if you’ve been feeling stuck, if you’ve been wrestling with anxiety, if you’ve been praying and asking God for clarity, maybe it’s time to move.
Maybe it’s time to sit with Him, journal, and ask:
And then—take the next step.
Because here’s something I know for sure: Action is the antidote to anxiety. When we sit in fear, when we overthink, when we let our thoughts spiral—nothing changes.
But when we take action, even if it’s just a small step of obedience, everything starts to shift.
If this message is hitting home for you, and you know you need to make a change, I want to invite you to listen to my last three podcast episodes.
These will help you stop overthinking, renew your mind, and get clarity on what God is calling you to do:

Friend, God has so much more for you than just surviving. But you have to make room for it.
So, I’ll ask you again—is your bucket big enough?
And is your wineskin flexible enough?
Let me know in the comments: What’s one area where God is asking you to increase your capacity right now?
I’m praying for you and cheering you on!
