You know God has called you to impact the Kingdom with your calling but now you feel stuck and just need God to show you how to do what He's asking you to do. Turn the fear of messing it up and the doubt of how to move forward into clarity and confidence with Christian Life Coaching. Let's chat!
Ever catch yourself thinking, Why am I so unmotivated? Or worse—do you spiral into I’m just lazy territory?
Let’s stop that thought train right now. Because the truth is, laziness is not the root problem—it’s a symptom. And if you’ve been beating yourself up for feeling stuck, exhausted, or uninspired, I need you to hear this:
You are NOT lazy.
But you are likely running on empty.
If motivation feels like some elusive magic you used to have—but now it’s MIA—I’ve got you. Today, we’re diving into why you’re feeling this way, what’s actually stealing your drive, and how to reignite your passion for life (without waiting for some mythical perfect day to arrive).
It’s time to shake off the mental fog, stop questioning yourself, and start moving again. Let’s go.
As a Christian life coach for women, I hear it all the time: “I just need some motivation…” But what is motivation? Is it the answer to all of your problems? Motivation is the internal engine that drives you to take action. But just like a car, if you don’t check what’s under the hood, you’re gonna stall out.
Sometimes, we lose motivation because:
Do any of these sound familiar? If so, let’s unpack this. Because motivation isn’t just about willpower (or lack thereof)—it’s about what’s draining your mental, emotional, and physical energy.
Your brain is constantly spinning. Your to-do list? Never-ending. You feel like you’re juggling 1,000 things, and if you drop one, everything will crash.
The result? Your brain taps out.
When you’re stuck in a cycle of go, go, go, motivation doesn’t disappear—it’s just buried under a mountain of mental clutter. Your mind is saying, I literally can’t take on one more thing right now.
Let’s be real: It’s hard to stay motivated when you have no idea what you’re working toward.
If your days feel like a copy-paste-repeat cycle—wake up, survive, go to bed—it’s no wonder you feel uninspired. Humans need a sense of purpose.
Motivation follows action—not the other way around.
If your thoughts sound like:
• Why bother?
• I always quit anyway.
• I’m not disciplined enough.
Then of course you don’t feel motivated!
Negative self-talk is like having a mean girl in your head whispering, Why even try? And the more you listen, the harder it is to move forward.
For more on taking every thought captive, you can also listen to this episode from my podcast:
Ever feel physically exhausted and emotionally numb?
That’s burnout. And it happens when you keep pushing without rest, joy, or boundaries.
• Everything feels harder than it should.
• You’re emotionally checked out.
• Even things you used to enjoy feel like chores.
• You’re exhausted no matter how much you sleep.
No more asking, “Why am I so unmotivated?” It is time to take some action – and here are four steps showing you how.
Instead of waiting for motivation to magically appear, start with a micro-win.
Small wins create momentum. Momentum creates motivation.
Motivation isn’t a feeling—it’s a result. If you wait until you “feel” like doing something, you’ll be waiting forever.
Action leads to motivation, not the other way around.
So, take the first step, even when you don’t feel like it. The feeling will follow.
My mom used to tell me, “You become a reflection of who you hang around the most.” Are the people in your life pushing you under, drowning with you, or tossing you a life vest?
Who are you listening to? If you’re surrounded by:
• People who constantly complain…
• People who don’t chase their own dreams…
• People who drain your energy…
Then guess what? It’s going to affect you.
Find people who inspire you. People who lift you up. People who remind you who you really are. Motivation isn’t just an inside job—it’s influenced by who you let speak into your life.
You don’t need to change your whole life overnight. You just need to show up today.
I call it the 1% Method – do 1% better today than you did yesterday – even if that means washing one dish in the sink – hey that’s progress if you haven’t washed any in a week, right? That’s how real change happens. That’s how motivation sticks. Action is an activator. And action is the antidote to anxiety. Take baby steps if you have to.
I;s time to reframe the thought, “What am I so unmotivated?” and start asking, “What is one small thing I can do today to take action?” Remember – if you’ve been feeling unmotivated, you are not lazy, and you are not failing.
You’re just a human who’s been carrying a lot. And that means you deserve grace—not guilt. And Go’d grace is sufficient. He will get you through this season. He is faithful and He loves you.
Now take a deep breath. Pick one small step. And start. You’ve got this.
