5 Steps to Get More Energy: A Faith-Based Approach to Renewing Your Strength
If you constantly feel drained, exhausted, or like you’re running on fumes, you need these 5 steps to get more energy now – and you’re not alone. Many women juggle endless responsibilities—balancing work, family, faith, and personal growth—while wondering why they can never seem to have enough energy to truly thrive.
As a faith based life coach, I’ve been there. I know what it’s like to wake up tired, rely on caffeine to get through the day, and crash by mid-afternoon. But through my own journey, I discovered that sustainable energy isn’t about quick fixes—it’s about aligning your mind, body, and spirit with God’s design for wellness.
Let’s Look at the 5 Steps to Get More Energy
In this post, I’ll walk you through 5 steps to get more energy, using simple, low-cost strategies rooted in holistic health and biblical wisdom. These aren’t just tips to help you feel better temporarily—they’re practical steps to break free from exhaustion and step into a more vibrant, energized life.
1. Balance Blood Sugar for Steady Energy
One of the biggest reasons women experience constant fatigue is unstable blood sugar levels. When your blood sugar spikes and crashes throughout the day, so does your energy. This cycle leaves you feeling sluggish, moody, and craving sugar or caffeine just to keep going.
Here’s how to stabilize your blood sugar and fuel your body with lasting energy:
Start your day with protein – A high-protein breakfast (like eggs, Greek yogurt, or a protein smoothie) keeps your energy steady and prevents mid-morning crashes.
Choose smart snacks – Instead of reaching for sugary treats, opt for protein and healthy fats (like nuts, cheese, or hummus with veggies).
Stay hydrated – Dehydration can mimic fatigue, so make sure you’re drinking enough water throughout the day.
2. Move Your Body to Activate Energy
God designed our bodies to move, yet so many of us feel stuck in a cycle of exhaustion, too tired to exercise. But here’s the truth: movement creates energy. Even small, simple forms of activity can reset your system and help you feel more awake and alert.
Try these easy ways to incorporate movement into your daily routine:
Take short walks throughout the day, especially after meals.
Stretch regularly to release tension and improve circulation.
Use desk exercises or standing breaks if you sit for long periods.
Movement isn’t about pushing yourself to extremes—it’s about honoring your body and giving it the momentum it needs to function optimally.
3. Manage Stress to Prevent Energy Drain
Stress is one of the biggest energy stealers. When you’re constantly in fight-or-flight mode, your body burns through energy reserves, leaving you feeling depleted. As a Christian life coach for women, I’ve seen firsthand how chronic stress not only affects physical health but also clouds spiritual clarity.
To reduce stress and protect your energy:
Practice deep breathing exercises to calm your nervous system.
Schedule downtime (yes, even if it feels impossible—your body and mind need it).
Limit screen time, especially before bed, to improve sleep quality and mental clarity.
God didn’t create you to live in a constant state of overwhelm. When you slow down and prioritize rest, you give Him room to renew your strength.
4. Lower Inflammation to Prevent Fatigue
Chronic inflammation is another hidden cause of low energy. When your body is inflamed, it’s constantly working to repair itself, draining your energy reserves. You also want to make sure you’re getting the right type of rest…rest isn’t just about sleep.
To reduce inflammation and support your body’s natural healing process:
Eat more anti-inflammatory foods like leafy greens, berries, turmeric, and omega-3-rich fish.
Avoid processed foods high in sugar, refined carbs, and unhealthy fats.
Get better sleep—it’s when your body restores itself and fights inflammation. Yes you want to get 8 hours of sleep when possible but you also want to make sure you are getting restful sleep.
5. Get Into the Word for Spiritual Energy
Physical health is important, but spiritual health is just as critical when it comes to your energy levels. There’s a reason why scripture encourages us to renew our minds—because true restoration comes from God.
To recharge spiritually and experience lasting peace and energy:
Spend time in daily devotion – Even just 10 minutes with God’s Word can shift your perspective and lighten your burdens.
Meditate on scripture – Let truth replace negative thoughts and renew your mindset.
Seek God’s promises for strength – Proverbs 4:20-22 reminds us that God’s Word brings life and healing to our bodies.
When we place our trust in God’s provision, rather than striving in our own strength, we step into the abundant life He intended for us.
