Tools to Help Chrisitan Women Build Self-Confidence
Ever feel like you’re doing all the right things but still not going anywhere? Like… you’re praying, journaling, reading your Bible, trying to trust God with everything you’ve got, but you’re still stuck. You want to build self-confidence but don’t know where to start. Here are some tools to help.
If you’ve ever whispered, “Why is this so hard?” or “God, what am I missing?”- girl, same. You’re not the only one. I hear this all the time from women just like you.
You’re not stuck because you’re lazy. Or because you lack faith. You’re stuck because no one ever handed you the right tools.
So today, I’m sharing some of my go-to tools as a Christian life coach, real, practical things you can start using right now to build confidence, break through fear, and start making moves again. These aren’t complicated. You don’t need a seminary degree. You just need a quiet moment and a heart that’s open.

1. Tools for Clarity
When life feels foggy—emotionally, spiritually, or mentally—clarity is usually the first thing to go. And without clarity? Everything feels harder.
The Thought Download
Set a 5-minute timer. Write everything swirling in your head onto paper. Don’t overthink it (see what I did there?). Then go back and ask yourself:
Is this true?
Is this helpful?
Is this what God says?
You’ll be surprised how often you’re operating from thoughts that are… well, just not true.
The “Where Are You Stuck?” Quiz
If you feel like you’re spinning but not sure why—take this quiz. It’ll show you what kind of “stuck” you’re dealing with. And when you know where you’re stuck, it’s way easier to figure out what to do next.
The Circle of Life Tool
This tool is like a quick life inventory. Rate areas like faith, health, relationships, purpose, etc. You’ll start to see where things feel off. You can grab it inside my Ultimate Guide to Getting Unstuck. Super helpful when you’re overwhelmed and don’t even know where to begin.
(And hey… no shame if that’s where you are.)
2. Tools for Mindset & Self-Confidence
This is the one I see Christian women wrestle with most. The fear. The impostor syndrome. The “Who am I to do that?” thoughts that show up the second you try to step out in faith.
Lies vs. Truth Exercise
Split a journal page in half. On one side, write the lies you’ve been believing (you know the ones). On the other side, write the truth of what God actually says. Then read those truths out loud. Seriously. Out loud.
The “But God” Reframe
Take whatever negative thought is running through your mind and finish it with But God…
“I’m not qualified… But God equips the called.”
“I’m scared to fail… But God is my strength.”
Scripture Speak-Back
Pick 2–3 verses that speak directly to your fear or doubt. Say them out loud every morning. Declare them in the car. Put them on sticky notes. Speaking God’s Word shifts things inside you (and around you too).
You don’t need to feel confident before you begin. Confidence doesn’t come first—obedience does. And these tools will help you build it along the way.
3. Tools for Emotional Regulation
Let’s talk about your nervous system for a sec. Because if you’re constantly overwhelmed, tired, and stuck in survival mode… self-confidence won’t stand a chance. (You’re not broken. You’re just burnt out.)
The 5-Minute Reset
Put one hand on your heart and one on your stomach. Breathe in for 4 seconds, exhale for 6. Whisper, “Jesus, I trust You.” Do this for five minutes. Simple… but powerful.
The Thought Model (C-T-F-A-R)
Here’s the breakdown:
C = Circumstance
T = Thought
F = Feeling
A = Action
R = Result
Your thoughts lead to your feelings. Feelings drive your actions. And your actions shape your results. Most of us try to change the action—but the thought is the root.
When you’re overwhelmed or frozen, just ask: What’s the next right thing I can do today? Not all the things. Just one. That’s it.
Peace is possible—even in the middle of chaos. But it starts with noticing when you’re dysregulated… and doing something small to bring your system back to safety.
You’re Not Failing—You Just Don’t Have the Self-Confidence Tools (Yet)
Listen, I’ve coached enough Christian women to know this: most of the time, it’s not about trying harder. It’s about knowing how.
How to…
quiet the noise. take your thoughts captive. and stop spiraling.
And that’s what Christian mindset coaching is really about. Helping you hear from God, build confidence, and finally move forward in the purpose He put inside you.
