Through breakthrough coaching, you’ll gain clarity, reclaim your energy, and step boldly into the life God has called you to—without the self-doubt, stress, or second-guessing.
I get asked this question a lot, “How can I become a Christian life coach, too?” So today, I am bringing you the scoop.
Becoming a Christian life coach isn’t just about starting a business—it’s about answering a call from God to serve others in a deeply transformative way. If you have a passion for helping people grow spiritually, emotionally, and practically, then this might be the path God is leading you toward.
My own journey into Christian life coaching was unexpected yet divinely orchestrated. I never planned to become a coach, but when God redirected my path, I realized that everything I had been through was preparing me for this very role. If you’re wondering how to become a Christian life coach, let me guide you through the process—step by step—so you can step fully into your calling.
A Christian life coach integrates biblical principles with practical coaching techniques to help individuals overcome obstacles, set meaningful goals, and grow in their faith. Unlike secular coaching, Christian life coaching is deeply rooted in scripture and relies on the Holy Spirit for guidance.
As a Christian life coach, you may help people in different areas such as:
Now, let’s explore how you can become a Christian life coach.
Before you can guide others, it’s essential to be spiritually grounded. A strong relationship with God will enable you to offer biblically sound advice and encouragement. Spend time in prayer, scripture, and personal development to deepen your faith.
While certification isn’t required to become a Christian life coach, it does provide credibility and equips you with the necessary coaching skills. Consider enrolling in a life coaching certification program, especially one that integrates faith-based coaching principles. Organizations like the International Christian Coaching Institute (ICCI) offer structured training to help you gain the skills needed for effective coaching.
Your coaching philosophy should reflect both your personal experiences and biblical truths. Ask yourself:
Start by offering coaching or mentoring to friends, family, or church members. Volunteer to practice and refine your skills. Every coaching session will help you gain confidence and shape your unique approach.
Once you feel prepared, take steps to launch your coaching practice:
Christian life coaching is a lifelong journey. Stay committed to your own growth by attending faith-based coaching workshops, reading books, and staying active in coaching communities. The more you grow, the more impactful your coaching will be. It is easy to fall into the “imposter syndrome” trap, but God will equip you as you go and step out in faith. We all have testimonies – what we’ve walked through becomes what we use to help others. Just because your life may not be perfect (no one’s is), doesn’t mean you aren’t qualified. Don’t listen to the lies of the enemy trying to stop you.
In an instant, everything changed.
One night, past midnight, I was journaling—sleepy, afraid, yet excited—when I realized something profound. Coaching wasn’t just another job. It was a calling—a deep, unshakable conviction in my spirit. I had spent years in corporate marketing, enjoying the work but feeling unfulfilled. Then, in March 2020, I was laid off.
At first, I cycled through emotions—shock, fear, and then… excitement. I knew God was shifting my path, but I had no idea what was next. It wasn’t until a friend commented, “You should be a life coach,” that it clicked. Immediately, I felt peace. I started praying, seeking counsel, and learning everything I could about coaching. Soon, God made it clear—this was my next step.
Saying yes to God wasn’t just about belief—it was about trust. One day, while driving, I saw a young woman on the back of a motorcycle. She wore shorts, a tank top, and flip-flops, completely vulnerable. God used that image to show me that faith is believing in Him, but trust is getting on the bike and going for the ride.
I said yes.
For years, different aspects of my life felt separate—my love for health and wellness, my passion for encouraging women, and my background in branding and marketing. But when I embraced coaching, God connected the dots.
I realized I needed to combine life coaching with health coaching because my own transformation included both spiritual and physical healing. And most importantly, my coaching had to be faith-based because Jesus was the reason I had experienced freedom in the first place.
Now, I help Christian women who feel stuck gain clarity in their calling and step boldly into their God-given purpose. It’s the most fulfilling work I’ve ever done, and I know—without a doubt—this is where I am meant to be.
If you feel called to help others grow in faith, navigate life’s challenges, and step into their God-given purpose, then becoming a Christian life coach may be your next step.
It’s a journey of faith, trust, and personal transformation—but it’s one that leads to an incredibly fulfilling calling. Are you ready to take the next step?
If so, start by deepening your faith, seeking training, and stepping forward in obedience. Your story is just beginning, and God has an incredible plan for you.
