The 5 Key Rules to Healthy Grocery Shopping

It’s no secret that eating healthy is important for our overall health and well-being – or that grocery shopping can be a busy mom’s worst nightmare. With our busy lives, it can be hard to know where to start when it comes to grocery shopping. That’s why I’ve put together a list of the 5 key rules to healthy grocery shopping, so you can make sure you and your family are getting the nutrients you need and it’s as close to “enjoyable” as we can get it – no promises but at least less stressful, how’s that?

The Power of Faith and Belief in Achieving Goals

When it comes to our mindset and achieving our goals, it’s important to understand the power of faith and belief. Our beliefs play a key role in how we think, feel, act, and determine the results we get – or don’t get. If we don’t change our beliefs, then we won’t be able to make any progress.

Your Struggle is Not Your Identity

It seems like for us moms, we are either exhausted or overwhelmed…or both. We often feel like we’re not good enough and then we begin to allow our struggles to define us.

“I am exhausted”
“I am overwhelmed”
“My kids will never listen, I am a terrible mom”

I want to encourage you to remember that your struggle is not your identity. Yes, you are a mom and you are working hard, and I am sure you are exhausted and overwhelmed but don’t forget all of the other amazing things about you too! You have a lot to offer the world, so don’t let your struggles keep you from reaching your potential. You are worth more than your struggle!

Nourish Yourself

It took me a long time to realize the truth: getting healthy doesn’t have to be so complicated!

When you focus on how good you feel nourishing yourself through what you consume, including food, entertainment & media, relationships, etc. you will continue to be motivated to continue to nourish yourself.

Are You Tired or Are You Lonely?

It is totally normal to be tired – I mean, you’re a mom, you’re busy. The to-do list of things us moms do every day is exhausting to look at, let alone accomplish. But I’m talking to you, the mom who is so exhausted that you’re not sure how you’re going to get yourself out of bed because you can barely open your eyes in the morning even though you’re going to bed early every night. The mama who closes the bathroom door and takes a deep breath, and wonders if she closes her eyes for just a few seconds if she could get in a quick nap…yep, a nap on the toilet. The mama who isn’t sure if it’s pure exhaustion or if it could possibly be depression. Because since you’re on the verge of tears half the day it could be either. Or both.

Yes and Amen

Have you ever watched an eagle soar? They spread out their wings and allow the winds to carry them. There’s very little effort on their part, the wind does all the work. They actually prefer to migrate during the day because they know the winds are stronger and they’ll be carried farther and closer to their destination. They can sense when a storm is coming… when the time is right, they stretch out their wings, lock them in place ..and wait. When the storm comes, the wind grabs hold of their wings and lifts them up and over the storm, and carries them. There’s no need for them to flap frantically, hide in a tree, or fear for their life because they were made to soar. It’s truly fascinating to watch.
