I'm Amy Wadlington! I help high-achieving Christian women break free from overwhelm, quiet the mental noise, and finally find peace. Through breakthrough coaching, you’ll gain clarity, reclaim your energy, and step boldly into the life God has called you to—without the self-doubt, stress, or second-guessing.
When it comes to achieving your health goals, your mindset is everything. If you’ve ever beaten yourself up for not doing what you know you “should” be doing—if you’ve ever thought you lack willpower or even called yourself lazy—listen up: the key to achieving your goals may be as simple as shifting your mindset. Today let’s dive into the power of faith and how belief and our mindset can help us achieve our goals.
What you believe dictates how you think. How you think determines how you feel. Your feelings fuel your actions, and your actions shape your results. If you want to make real progress in your health, career, or personal life, the right mindset must come first. And that mindset starts with understanding the power of faith and your beliefs.
Faith and beliefs go hand in hand. Faith is trusting in something unseen, while belief is accepting something as true—even if it isn’t true but your mind has convinced you that it is. To achieve your goals, you need faith to strengthen your beliefs so that change can begin to take root. You need to believe that success is possible and then put your faith in God to guide you toward it.
Most people assume that reaching their goals is all about massive action, willpower, and sheer determination. When they don’t hit their targets, they blame themselves for lacking willpower or wanting it badly enough. But the truth is, your mindset is just as important—if not more—than your actions.
Let’s take an example: If you believe that eating healthy never works for you, that belief triggers thoughts like, Why should I bother? I’ll just deprive myself and get the same disappointing results. It’s a waste of time. These thoughts lead to feelings of frustration, unworthiness, or even self-hatred. You might start believing you’re a failure, especially if you’ve tried and “failed” before.
What happens next? You either take no action (choosing not to eat healthy or exercise because you believe it won’t make a difference) or take negative action (emotional eating, self-sabotage, etc.). The result? Staying stuck or even gaining weight—giving your brain “proof” that your belief was right all along.
The good news? You have the power to change your beliefs. Here’s how:
Everything we do is tied to our emotions. God created us to feel. In fact, He wired certain feelings into us so that we would turn to Him to meet our needs:
If we ignore or suppress our emotions, we miss out on the wisdom God wants to give us. Instead of pushing them aside, take a moment to sit with your feelings, journal about them, and ask God what He wants to reveal through them.
Many people say they just want to be happy, but true contentment comes from something deeper. Joy is a gift from God. “The joy of the Lord is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10). No matter what challenges you’re facing, God’s joy is available to you—if you choose to receive it.
Ready to break free from limiting beliefs? Start with these simple steps:
If you’ve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or frustrated with your health or faith journey, challenging your beliefs is the key to unlocking your breakthrough. When we shift our minds and lean into the power of faith, God can work through us in ways we never imagined. With faith and truth-based beliefs, nothing is impossible.
YOU have the power to change your trajectory, your health, and your life. Simply by saying “stop” to the thoughts that no longer serve you, you can step into a new reality.
Instead of dwelling on past fears, failures, mistakes, and embarrassments, focus on the future you desire and commit to taking the necessary steps to get there. Your health will shift when your mind shifts.
