You know God has called you to impact the Kingdom with your calling but now you feel stuck and just need God to show you how to do what He's asking you to do. Turn the fear of messing it up and the doubt of how to move forward into clarity and confidence with Christian Life Coaching. Let's chat!
If you’ve ever whispered, “Lord, I want to trust You — but I’m barely holding on,” you are not alone. Learning how to trust God when doubt feels louder than faith is one of the most honest struggles a Christian woman faces — especially in midlife, when the stakes feel higher and the questions feel bigger.
Maybe God has called you to something — a business, a ministry, a bold new chapter — and instead of stepping forward, you’re standing at the edge wondering if you really heard Him right. Or maybe you’ve tried before and it didn’t work out, and now trusting Him feels a little more complicated than it used to.

That’s exactly what I unpacked in Episode 70 of Prophetic Breakthrough for Christian Women — How to Trust God When You Have Doubt and Impostor Syndrome (Without Overcomplicating Everything). If you want to go deeper, listen to the full episode below. But right now, let me share the three truths that have changed everything for me — and for so many women I’ve coached.
You’ve read the books. You’ve listened to the sermons. I know you’ve told yourself a hundred times to just trust God more.
And yet here you are, still spinning.
The problem isn’t that you don’t have enough information. The problem is that information alone doesn’t produce transformation. Knowing about faith and actually walking in faith are two very different things — and the gap between them is where most of us get stuck.
I know this because I’ve lived it.
When God called me into entrepreneurship and marketplace ministry as a prophet, I didn’t feel remotely qualified. I had already walked through two failed businesses. Every time I tried to move forward, something fell apart — or I burned out trying to force it in my own strength. I remember praying over and over again, “Lord, I believe — help my unbelief,” just like the desperate father in Mark 9.
I doubted God. And I doubted myself. Honestly, there were seasons I wondered if I’d missed His voice entirely.
But here’s the truth I had to grab hold of: if what God called you to feels impossible, that’s actually a sign you’re in the right place. If you could do it on your own, He wouldn’t need to be in it. He is the God of the impossible — and He gets the glory when it works, not us.

We hear a lot about having “faith the size of a mustard seed,” but Jesus didn’t say that. He said to have faith like a mustard seed. That’s a completely different thing.
A mustard seed doesn’t stay small. It grows deep, spreads wide, and eventually becomes one of the largest plants in the garden. That’s what living faith does — it expands, it roots, it multiplies.
Faith doesn’t grow by thinking about it. It grows through action — through moving even when you’re scared, even when you can’t see the outcome. So if you’re struggling to trust God right now, don’t try to force yourself to “feel” more faith. Instead, start by looking for evidence of His faithfulness in your past.
Ask yourself:
When you start looking for that evidence, your faith naturally strengthens. It gives you a foundation to stand on. And then you can take the next small, obedient step — not because you have all the answers, but because you trust the One who does.
In Mark 5, there’s a woman who had been suffering for twelve years. She’d spent everything she had trying to get better. She was broke, exhausted, and — by Jewish law — considered unclean, which meant she’d been living in isolation.
She could have stayed home that day.
Instead, she pressed through the crowd and reached out to touch the hem of Jesus’ garment. She didn’t have a polished prayer. She didn’t have a plan. All she did was say to herself, “If I can just touch Him, I’ll be healed.”
And Jesus turned and said, “Daughter, your faith has made you well.”
Not her perfection. Not her performance. Her faith — expressed through one courageous, imperfect action.
When you’re trying to figure out how to trust God in the middle of doubt, this story is such a gift. She acted on what she knew, not on what she didn’t. And that one moment changed everything.
Your healing, your clarity, your next breakthrough — it might not be waiting on more certainty. It might be waiting on one small, brave act of faith. What would happen if you stopped waiting to feel ready and just reached out?
If you struggle with impostor syndrome, you need to meet Gideon.
When God showed up and called him a mighty warrior, Gideon’s response was basically: “Who, me? My clan is the weakest in the whole tribe, and I’m the least significant person in my family.”
Sound familiar?
God wasn’t looking for someone with an impressive résumé. He was looking for someone willing to say yes. God called Gideon a mighty warrior before Gideon had done a single courageous thing. He spoke identity over him before the action ever came.
The same is true for you.
If you’ve been saying, “Who am I to do this?” — God is saying, “Who are you NOT to, when I’m the one who called you?”
The imposter syndrome you feel isn’t a signal that you’re not qualified. It’s often a signal that you’re standing at the edge of something God-sized. And God-sized things always feel too big for the person He’s asking to step into them — that’s kind of the point.
Here’s the recap:
Grow your faith — look for evidence of God’s faithfulness and take your next small, obedient step.
Take the reach — like the woman who touched Jesus’ hem, your breakthrough often comes one brave, imperfect action at a time.
Agree with God — stop disqualifying yourself from what He’s already qualified you for. You’re not an impostor. You’re called.
Trusting God doesn’t mean you never doubt. It means you choose to move even when you do. It means you stop waiting for the doubt to disappear before you take the step — and instead, you take the step with the doubt still there.
That’s when breakthrough actually happens.

What does it mean to trust God when you have doubt? Trusting God in doubt doesn’t mean pretending the doubt isn’t there. It means choosing to move forward in faith anyway — taking your next step even when you don’t have all the answers. Doubt and faith can coexist. What matters is which one you act on.
Is it a sin to doubt God? No. Doubt is a deeply human experience, and Scripture is full of people who doubted — Moses, Gideon, Thomas, even John the Baptist. What God cares about is your heart posture. Honest doubt brought to Him in prayer is very different from hardened unbelief. He can work with a heart that’s struggling but still reaching toward Him.
How do I grow my faith when I feel spiritually stuck? Start by looking for evidence of God’s past faithfulness in your life. Faith grows through action — even small, imperfect steps. Ask yourself where God has shown up for you before, and let that become your foundation for moving forward today.
What is impostor syndrome in a Christian context? Impostor syndrome is the feeling that you’re not really qualified or deserving of the calling God has placed on your life — the sense that everyone else is more capable or more “chosen.” In a Christian context, it often sounds like, “Who am I to do this?” The story of Gideon is a powerful reminder that God calls people who feel least qualified all the time. He’s looking for obedience, not a perfect résumé.
How do I know if I’m really hearing from God or just imagining it? This is one of the most common questions Christian women ask.. A few markers: What He’s calling you to will align with Scripture. It will likely stretch you beyond what you can do in your own strength. And often, the calling will persist even when you try to talk yourself out of it. If you need help discerning your next step, a breakthrough coaching call can help you get clarity.
What’s the first step to trusting God more in my everyday life? Start small and stay consistent. Choose one area where you’ll act on what you already know to be true about God — even if you’re scared. Journal what happens. Look for His faithfulness showing up in the details. Faith builds on itself when you give it room to move.
