How Do You Get Unstuck in Life? 3 Steps for the Christian Woman Who Feels Like She’s Tried Everything
If you’ve been asking yourself, “How do you get unstuck in life?”—especially as a Christian woman who loves God but feels like she’s still spinning her wheels—you’re in the right place. The truth is, getting unstuck isn’t always about doing more. Often, it starts with renewing your mind, slowing down, and inviting God into the areas you’ve tried to fix on your own.
Let me guess—you’ve read the books. Prayed the prayers. Done the devotionals. You’ve asked God to show you your next step more times than you can count.
You know you’re called for more and that God has plans for your prosperity. You can feel it in your spirit. But the clarity? Nowhere to be found.
So you sit there, doing your best to keep it all together, trying not to let the overwhelm win—but deep down you’re tired. You’ve been spinning in circles, overthinking every move, and asking God, “Why does everything feel so hard?”
If that’s you, I want you to know: I get it. And you’re not crazy or failing or faithless.
You’re just stuck.
And today, I want to walk you through 3 powerful steps that have helped me—and the women I coach—start moving again with peace, purpose, and a whole lot less striving.
1. Seek God for Vision, Not Just Answers
Here’s what most of us do when we feel stuck: we beg God for instructions. We want to know what to do, when to do it, and how to not screw it up.
But clarity doesn’t always come in a full set of directions. Often, it comes in the form of vision—when you slow down long enough to see what God has already been whispering.
The Bible doesn’t say anywhere to “wait for clarity before moving forward.” The Lord did tell Habakkuk in chapter 2, verse 2 to get a vision and to write it down:
“And the Lord answered me:
“Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it..” (Hab 2:2 ESV)
The Message version says it like this:
And then God answered: “Write this. Write what you see. Write it out in big block letters so that it can be read on the run. (Hab 2:2-3 MSG)
When I work with women through Christian mindset coaching, we don’t just chase productivity. We slow down and ask the deeper questions:
Where are you right now?
What’s already stirring in your heart?
What is God trying to show you in this season?
Open your Bible. Turn on worship. Journal what you hear. Create space to listen. God isn’t hiding. He’s speaking—you just may need to get quiet enough to hear Him again.
2. Clear the Mental Clutter (Start Journaling)
If your mind feels foggy, overwhelmed, or like it’s running in a thousand directions at once—it’s not a character flaw. It’s just mental clutter.
When your thoughts don’t have anywhere to go, they get stuck. And when you get stuck, it’s usually because you’ve been carrying too much in your head for too long.
That’s why journaling is one of the most powerful tools to gain clarity and healing. It’s not just about venting—it’s about slowing down, asking the right questions, and letting the Holy Spirit reveal what’s true.
Start with simple prompts:
What am I carrying that God never asked me to hold?
What fears are keeping me from moving forward?
What lies have I believed about my worth, my future, or my calling?

3. Own Who You Are and Whose You Are
If you’re anything like the women I coach, you’ve probably spent years downplaying your gifts in the name of humility. Maybe you’ve questioned whether your voice matters, whether your story is useful, or whether you’re qualified to do what’s on your heart.
But here’s the truth: God doesn’t ask us to shrink. He asks us to show up—with Him.
To dream with God again, you have to start believing what He says about you. That you are chosen. Called. Equipped.
Want help rediscovering your God-given desires and calling after a season of survival mode? I wrote a blog about that too—Dreaming with God Again.
You are His masterpiece. Your story matters. And nothing has been wasted—not even the long season spent in the wilderness.
When you start to see yourself the way God sees you, you’ll stop disqualifying yourself from things He already assigned to you.
What Now?
It doesn’t require a 10-year plan if you want to get unstuck in life. It starts with a small, faithful yes:
Seek God’s presence before His plan.
Journal your way through the clutter.
Own your identity in Christ.
And if you need support? That’s exactly why I’m here.
I’d love to walk with you through Christian mindset coaching that helps you stop overthinking and start moving in purpose—with clarity, confidence, and peace.
Next time the spiral hits, remind yourself: I’m not behind. I’m not broken, I’m not too late. I’m just getting started—and I’m moving forward.
