You know God has called you to impact the Kingdom with your calling but now you feel stuck and just need God to show you how to do what He's asking you to do. Turn the fear of messing it up and the doubt of how to move forward into clarity and confidence with Christian Life Coaching. Let's chat!

Have you ever felt like you have too many ideas — and instead of feeling inspired, you just feel completely stuck?
Maybe someone spoke a prophetic word over you. A coach confirmed something you’d been sensing. Your pastor said something that lit a fire in you. And now you’re sitting there trying to figure out what all of it even means — while a quiet voice in the back of your mind whispers, “Who do you think you are?”
That whisper? That’s imposter syndrome. And if you’re a Christian woman in midlife who knows God has called her to something more, it might be the very thing keeping you from stepping into it.
You are not alone. In my coaching, the words I heard over and over again from women just like you are: “I feel stuck.” “I’m afraid of failing again.” “What if this is my plan and not God’s?” “I feel quite unqualified.”
Friend, those aren’t signs that you aren’t called. They’re signs that you need a strategy for getting out of your own head and into your God-given assignment.
So today I’m sharing 3 practical steps to overcome imposter syndrome, build real confidence, and finally trust God’s plan — even when you can’t see how all the pieces fit together.
Imposter syndrome is that nagging feeling that you’re not qualified enough, experienced enough, or “put together” enough to do what God has placed on your heart. It shows up as self-doubt, second-guessing, and overthinking — and it keeps you circling the same mountain instead of moving forward.
For Christian women, imposter syndrome often has a spiritual edge to it. It’s not just “I’m not sure I can do this” — it’s “What if I get this wrong and miss God’s will?” That fear of making the wrong move can paralyze even the most faith-filled women.
Here’s the truth: the enemy always tries to get you to question your identity before you walk into your destiny. He did it with Eve in the garden. He did it with Jesus in the wilderness. And he’s doing it with you right now.
But your confidence doesn’t come from your credentials. It comes from Who sent you.
When you’re overwhelmed by ideas and uncertain about your calling, the instinct is to do more — research more, plan more, hustle harder toward direction. But confusion is often a sign you’ve stepped into striving instead of resting in His presence.
The first step to overcoming imposter syndrome isn’t action. It’s stillness.
Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still, and know that I am God.”
You don’t have to have all the answers right now. You just need to pause long enough for His peace to become louder than your pressure.
Think of it like the story in 2 Kings 4, when Elijah visited the widow who was out of options and desperate. He asked her, “What do you have in your house?” She said, “Just a small jar of oil.”
He told her to borrow jars from her neighbors — a lot of them. And when she started pouring, the oil kept flowing until every jar was full.
God isn’t asking for what you don’t have. He’s asking, “What’s already in your house?”
Your oil might be your testimony, your teaching gift, your creative mind, your compassion, your years of lived experience — those things you’ve dismissed as “random” or “not enough.” He’s saying, “Bring Me the jars, and I’ll fill them.”
Try this: For the next seven days, spend just 10 minutes a day in silence with God. No music. No journaling. And no scrolling. Just breathe and say, “Speak, Lord. I’m listening.” Then write down any word or phrase that stands out. That’s often where your next instruction begins.
Once you’ve created space to hear from God, the next step is to replace the lies imposter syndrome tells you with the truth of who God says you are.
Imposter syndrome whispers, “Who am I to do this?”
God says, “You’re Mine. I’ve equipped you for this.”
2 Corinthians 3:5 reminds us: “Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God.”
You are not an imposter. You are anointed.
Here’s something I’ve noticed in my own life and in the lives of the women I coach: the seasons that feel like scattered puzzle pieces are actually seasons of preparation. There was a time I was asked to write a book on prayer and fasting while I was also a health coach working in marketing. Nothing seemed to connect. But now I can look back and see how every one of those experiences was intentional — God was filling my jars even when I didn’t realize it.
The skills, experiences, and life seasons you’ve been through that seem disconnected? They’re the jars. Every single one is being prepared for overflow.
Try this: Write five “I am” statements rooted in God’s truth about you. Say them out loud every morning for the next week. Something like:
You’ll be amazed how quickly your mind starts to agree with heaven.
One of the biggest traps of imposter syndrome is waiting until everything is clear before you take action. We want the full blueprint. The five-year plan. The guarantee that it’s going to work.
But God builds revelation through obedience.
Every time you take one step, He reveals the next one. You don’t need the whole staircase — just the next brick.
Proverbs 16:9 says, “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”
Notice it says steps — plural, sequential. Not the whole journey all at once.
So instead of asking, “What’s the five-year plan?” — ask, “Lord, what’s my next right step?”
It might be reaching out to someone you’ve been meaning to connect with. Or maybe it’s recording that first video. It might be signing up for coaching or starting that journal you keep putting off. Whatever it is — take that one obedient step, and watch how quickly clarity follows.
Try this: Take five minutes right now and ask the Holy Spirit, “What’s the next step You want me to take this week?” Write it down. Don’t overthink it. Just act on it.
Here’s what I sense the Lord saying to you today:
You haven’t missed it. The puzzle pieces are still coming together. Every jar you’ve collected will be filled with His oil in due time. Don’t despise this season of gathering — He’s preparing you for overflow.
Friend, God isn’t confusing you. He’s building you. And soon, what felt scattered is going to come together into a masterpiece of purpose.
If you’re tired of circling the same mountain and you’re ready to finally get clear on what God is asking you to do next, I’d love to help.

Imposter syndrome is the persistent feeling that you’re not qualified, experienced, or “good enough” to do what you’ve been called to do — even when evidence says otherwise. It shows up as constant self-doubt, overthinking, and the nagging belief that you’re somehow faking it and everyone is about to find out. For women stepping into a God-given calling, it often sounds like: “Who am I to do this?” or “Someone else is far more qualified than me.” The tricky thing about imposter syndrome is that it doesn’t go away once you get more experience or more credentials — it has to be confronted at the root, which is identity.
Christian women often struggle with imposter syndrome because the calling is real — and the enemy knows it. When God places a dream or a purpose on your heart, there is a spiritual opposition that comes with it. The doubt you feel isn’t just psychological; it’s also an attack on your identity in Christ. Add to that years of putting everyone else first, seasons of disappointment, or simply not seeing how your life experiences could possibly qualify you for what God is asking — and imposter syndrome can feel overwhelming. But here’s the truth: your competence doesn’t come from you. As 2 Corinthians 3:5 reminds us, “Our competence comes from God.” You were never meant to feel qualified on your own — you were meant to feel sent.
While the Bible doesn’t use the term “imposter syndrome,” it is full of people who felt completely unqualified for what God called them to do — and did it anyway. Moses told God he wasn’t a good enough speaker (Exodus 4:10). Gideon called himself the least in his family (Judges 6:15). Jeremiah said he was too young (Jeremiah 1:6). In every case, God’s response was the same: “I will be with you.” If you’re looking for encouragement, start with Jeremiah 1:4–10, 2 Corinthians 3:4–6, and Philippians 4:13. And if the fear of stepping into your calling feels more spiritual than circumstantial, Ephesians 6:10–18 — putting on the full armor of God — is a powerful place to stand.
